The purpose of debates are to let the people see what each candidate stands for who is running for president. They help people decide on who they want to vote for, for president. Yes, it does help arrive at a better decision which would be people getting the right person in office. Yes the debate is structured.

• School Debate

These types of debates usually happen at schools. The purpose of these debates are to see which school is better at debating. It doesn't really help arrive at a better decision besides the fact of one school being better than the other at debating. Yes it is structured.
