One goal that I have for myself this year is to try my hardest and give it my all. I feel that I haven't always applied myself in the past. Sure I tried in school, but I didn't do everything in my power to go for that A. I want to make my parents proud and show myself that I can push myself and go that extra mile to achieve my goal.

I have to tell you, doing it to make your parents proud, while being an endearing sentiment, doesn't cut it in the long run. You need to do it for you. Or you'll only live to regret it.
